Dark Skies Festival
13 February – 1 March 2026 The Yorkshire Dales National Park is one of Europe’s best places for stargazing. Its dramatic landscapes and clear night skies make it the perfect setting to celebrate the wonders of the universe. Wharfe Camp is a Dark Skies Friendly Business.
Wharfedale Three Peaks Challenge
Saturday 27 June 2026 This iconic challenge takes in the three great peaks of Upper Wharfedale — Birks Fell, Buckden Pike, and Great Whernside. Walkers can choose from three route options, including the valley floor walk, all starting and finishing in Kettlewell Village. Wharfe Camp is an official sponsor.
Skipton Sheep Day
Sunday 28 June 2026 A lively celebration of Skipton’s agricultural heritage, with sheep demonstrations, family activities, and entertainment throughout the town centre. It’s one of Skipton’s most popular annual events.
Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival
Sunday 8 – Sunday 16 August 2026 One of Yorkshire’s most loved village festivals, filling Kettlewell with imaginative and humorous scarecrows. Visitors follow themed trails, enjoy homemade cakes, and soak up the village’s unique community spirit.
Kilnsey Show
Tuesday 1 September 2026 A true Yorkshire Dales institution and one of the region’s premier agricultural events. Expect livestock classes, equine competitions, sheepdog trials, rural crafts, local food, and a brilliant family atmosphere.
Grassington 1940s Weekend
Friday 18 – Sunday 20 September 2026 Grassington steps back in time with vintage music, dancing, military vehicles, re‑enactments, market stalls, and wartime nostalgia. Many visitors dress in period clothing, adding to the immersive and good‑humoured atmosphere.
Skipton Artisan Market
1st Sunday of each month, March – September 2026 A monthly market showcasing independent makers, bakers, artists, and producers from across Yorkshire. A lovely place to pick up handmade gifts, local food, and unique crafts before exploring the town.
