If you’re staying with us at Wharfe Camp this August, don’t miss the delightfully quirky Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival, running from 8–16 August 2026.

Each summer, the village bursts into life with over 100 imaginative scarecrows adorning lanes, gardens and rooftops — a joyful celebration of creativity, community and Yorkshire charm. Since 1994, the festival has raised vital funds for Kettlewell School, the Village Hall, St Mary’s Church, and outreach work across the parish.

Follow the 3 km trail, packed with characters inspired by fairy tales, local legends and pop‑culture favourites. And this year, Nick Hockney (great nephew of David Hockney) and Laura Mate of Palette Art join the fun as guest judges, adding a touch of welcome splash of regional artistic flair.

Trail maps are just £1, and parking is £4 per car (cash only). The Village Hall café is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm, serving delicious homemade soup, sandwiches and cakes — with every penny supporting local causes.

With live music, market stalls and a warm community atmosphere, it’s a brilliant day out. We’re proud to support it — and we’re sure you’ll love it too.
