Upper Wharfedale is at its most inspiring when you’re out on the hills, and the Wharfedale 3 Peaks Challenge is the perfect way to experience it. Hosted by the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA), this annual event raises vital funds for the volunteers who keep our fells safe year‑round. Join us on Saturday 27th June 2026 and choose the route that matches your stamina and spirit.
Three Peaks – 17 milesBirks Fell, Buckden Pike and Great Whernside: a full, rewarding day on the high tops.
Two Peaks – 13.5 milesA slightly shorter but still spectacular ascent of Buckden Pike and Great Whernside.
Valley Walk – 4.5 milesA gentle, scenic loop following the Dalesway along the River Wharfe to Starbotton, returning via the elevated Paradise Walk with sweeping views over Wharfe Camp and the Upper Wharfedale valley.
Whether you’re tackling the summits or enjoying the valley floor, every step supports UWFRA’s essential work. Event rules and online applications can be found in the Wharfedale Three Peaks Rules and Information pack.
As proud official sponsors, Wharfe Camp is offering 10% off camping and glamping over the event weekend for all registered participants. It’s the ideal base: peaceful, scenic, and just moments from the start in Kettlewell.
Challenge yourself, support a vital local charity, and make a weekend of it in the heart of the Dales.
