Imagine stepping outside your cabin to a sky filled with 2,000 stars. At Wharfe Camp, we offer more than just off-season glamping—we offer a front-row seat to the universe.
Just minutes from Buckden National Park Car Park—one of four official Dark Sky Discovery Sites in the Yorkshire Dales—we're proud to be a registered Dark Sky Friendly Business, with reduced light pollution to enhance your stargazing stay.
Join us for the Dark Skies Fringe Festival (24 Oct – 2 Nov 2025) or the main Dark Skies Festival (13 Feb – 1 Mar 2026), celebrating the wonder of the night sky. Events include stargazing with expert astronomers, astro-photography, night-time fell running, and even canoeing under starlight.
Explore the Planet Trail on the Dales Way near Buckden or the Planet and Constellation Trail at Aysgarth Falls. These self-guided walks feature scale models of the solar system, interactive quizzes, and fascinating facts for all ages.
On a clear night, you’ll see the Milky Way, planets, meteors, and even the International Space Station zipping overhead. With a little luck, the Northern Lights might even make a guest appearance.
✨ Come experience the wonder for yourself. Wharfe Camp is your gateway to the stars.
