If you’re looking for a delicious change of pace during your stay at Wharfe Camp, Plaza Uno in Grassington is a gem worth the short 7‑mile drive. Warm, lively and full of authentic Spanish flavour, it’s the kind of place where you instantly feel welcome.
Plaza Uno was created from a genuine love of Spanish food and culture. Head chef and owner Katie Meggison spent years immersed in Spanish cuisine, and that passion shines through in every dish. Working alongside her partner Carl and a dedicated team, she’s brought a little slice of Spain to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Luis Balsa, originally from Spain, adds an extra layer of authenticity, helping shape the atmosphere and menu with real cultural insight.
A firm favourite with guests is the Tapas Lunch Sharer – exceptional value and a perfect introduction to traditional tapas. Expect patatas with aioli and bravas, Manchego cheese, Ibérico ham, pan con tomate, Spanish tortilla, and chorizo cooked in red wine. It’s vibrant, generous and ideal after a morning exploring the Dales.
For something special, Plaza Uno also hosts a Spanish wine and tapas tasting evening on the first Wednesday of every month, guided by a visiting wine expert.
Whether you’re after a relaxed lunch or an evening out with atmosphere, Plaza Uno offers a warm, authentic escape to Spain – right on our doorstep.
Bookings are recommended. Call 01756 634550 or book a table online. Takeaway is also available if you’d prefer to enjoy great tapas back at Wharfe Camp.
